2007, photo installation

During a stay at the National University of Fine Art and Music in Tokyo Daniel Beerstecher realized this photographic series. There are 20 close-ups of an acupuncture treatment of his own body confronted with 20 photographs which portray urban activity in Tokyo. The bustle of the city, crowds of people, traffic chaos and the entertainment and consumption industry are contrasted with the intimate action of a doctor who entirely devotes himself to his patient. Intersections of urban life face intersections of the human body and guidance systems of modern society are reflected in the energy flow of a person.
